How to Get the Most Accurate Cooking Times
Don't Overcrowd the Basket
Stacking food in layers (especially french fries or chicken nuggets) traps steam, which makes food soggy. Spread food in a single layer to ensure hot air reaches all surfaces.
Check Doneness Early
Since air fryers vary significantly in power and basket shape, always slide out the basket and check the progress about 2 to 3 minutes before the recommended timer finishes.
Preheating vs Non-Preheating
If you cook food in a cold air fryer, it may take 1 to 2 minutes longer. Many modern air fryers preheat in seconds. If preheated, check your food on the lower end of the time range.
